How we pick vendors and check prices
This site compares AI workers by job: SDR, receptionist, support agent, bookkeeper, social media manager. Here is exactly how the tables get built, so you can decide how much to trust them.
Who writes this
I run a small AI automation consultancy in Bordeaux. The tools in these tables are tools I have either implemented for clients, piloted, or sat through the demo call for. That is the whole qualification: I only write about the job roles where I have done the work, which is why there are five pages and not fifty.
How a vendor gets on the list
Three filters, applied in order:
- It does the whole job, not a feature of it. A chatbot with an autoresponder is not an AI receptionist. If the product needs a human in the loop for the core task, it does not make the table.
- Real businesses use it. Named customers, case studies with numbers, or pricing that implies a sales team. A waitlist and a landing page do not count.
- I can tell what it costs or I say so. Where pricing is not public, the cell says not public. I do not guess.
How prices are checked
Every price comes from the vendor's own pricing page, captured on the date shown in the column header. I re-check each page roughly monthly, and immediately after any vendor announces a change. Two things to know about the numbers:
- Annual billing is the default marketing price for most of these tools. Where the monthly figure differs, I use the annual one and say "billed annually".
- Enterprise tools quote per deployment. For those, "not public" in a pricing cell is not a gap, it is the finding: you will negotiate, and the spreads are wide.
Why there are no rankings
The tables are alphabetical. No "top 10", no score out of five, no editor's choice badge. A ranking implies a single winner, and the honest answer for every one of these categories is it depends on your stack and your volume. What I do instead: a short verdict per vendor in the "my read" column, and quick picks where one tool clearly fits a common situation best.
Money
No sponsored placements. No vendor pays to be listed, positioned, or described. If affiliate links go live, they will be marked on the link itself and this page will say so. Rankings will still not be for sale.
